If he had a vote in our constituency, Nigel would vote for Liberal Democrat candidate Margaret Rowley.
Nigel Jones, MP for Cheltenham from 1992 to 2005, now sits in the House of Lords as Lord Jones of Cheltenham. He believes Margaret Rowley stands head and shoulders above any of the other candidates in this important general election.
Lord Jones said:-
“A long time ago I went to school at Prince Henry’s in Evesham, so I know this area well and have many friends here. This used to be a thriving place. I was shocked the last time I walked down Bridge Street and saw so many empty shops.
“The town and the surrounding villages have been neglected in recent years. A new broom is needed to get the area back on the road to success.
“Margaret Rowley knows this place like the back of her hand. She has the right principles and is used to hard work. She would make an excellent Member of Parliament.
“After the election, when Margaret gets on the train to London she will be a truly local person going to Parliament to fight full-time for local people, not a part-time Tory carpet-bagger going home.
“I hope the good people of Mid Worcestershire make the right decision and elect Margaret on May 7th. I look forward to working with her in Parliament.”
