David Quayle your Liberal Democrat candidate for Evesham North West - County 2021
David Quayle lives in Evesham North West Division and is the local Liberal Democrat spokesperson for health. He is a registered nurse of 30 years ‘ experience. He has already been campaigning to reduce traffic congestion in the town – because of the effects of pollution on health as well as the delays it causes.
David says “We build more and more houses without doing anything to improve our road network (or indeed any other essential services), our town has two bridges, one of which is one way only, and so we have a complete bottleneck which creates long jams of idling cars as they slowly pass through town.
“It’s annoying yes – it is costly to businesses and destructive for any renewal plans for our town centre. Most importantly however, is that idling traffic puts out some pretty nasty pathogens into our environment such as; carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), nitrous oxide (N2O), sulphur dioxide, suspended particles, PM-10 particles less than 10 microns in size, benzene, formaldehyde and polycyclic hydrocarbons.”
“ Would anyone sit their child next to an idling lorry for a few hours and suggest they breathe from the exhaust pipe? This is in effect what we may be doing in failing to keep traffic flowing through our town.
“Environmentalism is at the heart of Liberal Democrat policy, as is the absolute knowledge that without a clean and healthy environment, human health cannot exist. If we keep on doing what we’ve always done, we’ll always get the same outcomes and so it’s time for change – vote Liberal Democrat to save our environment.”
